MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES
Meeting was held on–09-14-2015–at St. Peter Meeting rooms A & B.
Meeting was called to order by Grand Knight Chuck Beebe
Warden John Fossett reported on membership cards.
Opening prayer was led by Grand Knight at the Shrine of the Unborn.
Pledge of Allegiance led by Grand Knight Chuck Beebe in rooms A & B.

The minutes of the last meeting on—08-10-2015 –were read and/or amended.
ADMISSIONS REPORT: Brother Roy Staszak:
(1) At last count there are 76 Associate members, 66 insurance members, 42 other members, 6 honorary members, and 14 honorary life members.
(2) One reapplication for Richard (Piscano), vote to reinstate passed.
(3) There are three other applications in the vetting process.
(4) There will be a first and second degree ceremony at St. Joseph, Sept. 20th, at 7:00pm.
GRAND KNIGHTS REPORT: Brother Chuck Beebe:
(1)Installation of officers for 2015/2016 took place in the Chapel, Sunday, August 30th. Ceremony was officiated by PGK Brother Ted Mirenda and Brother Ron Yavorka, also District Deputy Bill Shields and Father Fitzpatrick.
(2)Knight at the Races, (KATR) is coming up fast, October 10th. Tickets are now on sale and are available from Tom Sandri.
(3)There will be a Knights mass in October, date to be announced.
(4)Coal tickets have finally arrived, also Brothers Joe Mitri and Ron Yavorka have football sweeps tickets. The due date for Coal tickets has been extended to November. Final date to be determined.
(5)World Meeting of Families is two weeks away, September 22-25 followed by the Papal visit Sept. 26-27th. Brother Tom Lanchoney will be updating us on these events.
(5)Wegman’s grocery store is sponsoring a Project Gratitude project at the VA campus here in Coatesville. It’s basically a covered pavilion for use by the underserved women veterans population. As they are not a 501C3 non-profit that have requested assistance from the knights in directing funds to their contractor. They have requested a presence from the knights at the work site for a photo opportunity on Tuesday, 10/6 at 2:00. See GK Chuck for details and directions.
(6)Due to competing interests Brother Jim Reif has asked for assistance with the Chancellors position. GK Chuck has asked brother Tom Sandri and his wife Karen to assist with KATR, and Brother John McMullen to assist with vocation director duties as well.
(7)Degree Certificates. Brother Joe Mitri handed out 4th Degree certificates to Brother James McAlonan, Brother Thomas C. Lanchoney, Brother Michael J. Wasilesky, Brother Charles B. Beebe, Brother Theodore Mirenda, and Brother Thomas Sandri’s certificate is in transit.
(8)Knight of the Month – Tom Foley for his EBLAST support; Family of the Month – Tom and Mary Hogan for their support of the summer picnic/pig roast.
(9)Communications from Birthright of Coatesville for the Knights donation of $645, and a thank you note from the Kenna family for the condolence card for mothers recent passing.

CHANCELLOR’S REPORT ON VOCATIONS AND PROJECTS: Brothers Jin Reif, Tom Sandri and John McMullen:
(1)Bill Young’s son-in-law is doing well after his recent kidney transplant, Tom Sandri is at Paoli Hospital with flu like symptoms, Sharon Bullock is recovering well from chemo, Steve Swarchek is still recovering with several bouts of illnesses, Mike Fogels wife Joanne is home from rehab due to severe injuries from an auto accident.

(1)-Deacon Todd has graciously offered to help us to understand Christ’s question in this weeks Gospel reading:”Who do you say I am?” If we feel the call and aren’t sure how to answer, he would like to talk to us about it. Many thanks for the offer Deacon Todd.
(2)Please see the handout from this week’s bulletin outlining the various travel options for the Pope’s upcoming visit to Philadelphia.
(3)St. Peter Adult Faith Formation will be offering three new opportunities to learn more about our faith commencing the week of Oct. 6th. On Tuesday evening, Jan Smith will lead an eight session Ascension Press program entitled “Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother.” On Thursdays,” Peter: Cornerstone of Catholicism,” a ten session study will be offered in the mornings by Joan Buono and then in the evening by Deacon Todd. Please find additional information and registration forms in the literature rack in the Church narthex. St. Peter parish had also partnered with Evagelization.com which will allow us to access Ascension Press online.

(1)Soccer Challenge date has been set for Oct. 10th at 11:00am at the Brandywine Y.M.C.A.
PRO LIFE DIRECTOR: Brother John McMullen.
(1)There will be web casts in regards to the abortion clinics selling baby body parts that has recently come to light. Further info can be found on council’s web site
(2) Forty Days for Life will start Sept. 23rd to Nov. 1st. www.40daysforlife.com/ChesterCounty.
(3)There will be prayers to end abortion at Covenant Fellowship Church in Glenn Mills. Date(?)
(4)October 3rd there’s a baby shower in front of Planned Parenthood in West Chester.
Keep Christ in Christmas Billboards:
(1)Brother Roy Staszak reports that after a committee meeting a date was set for Nov. 7th to erect the signs at four locations.
(2)Brother Ron Yavorka reports we have sold 42 football sweeps tickets. With eight tickets outstanding, and most likely sold, they have to be in by Oct. 20th.
(3)Brother Jim Reif reported on the progress of a plaque with the names of past and present Eagle Scouts of West Brandywine Township. So far there have been 60 names installed on the plaque with space for about a hundred more. Jim thanked all who helped and supported him.
(1)There will be a Fraternal Benefits Knight, date to be determined, to invite the parish to explain the benefits of our insurance and of being a Knight. This will be done along with our agent Brother Tom Zarrilli.
REPORT OF THE FOURTH DEGREE: Past Faithful Navigator Sir Joe Mitri:
(1)September 22nd-the 4th Degree is going to the kick off a mass for the World Meeting of Families with regalia. See Joe for further info.
(2)Sept. 29th, there will be a lunch at Shady Maple.
(3)October 3rd, after the 8:00am mass at St. Agnes, the 4th Degree will march to Planned parenthood of West Chester. Members will be in regalia.
(4)October 18th there will be an officer installation with breakfast afterward.
(5)October 27th , first drawing for anyone with 300 club tickets.
(6)November 6th the VA parade in Coatesville
(7)Nov. 8th, Memorial mass for fallen 4th degree members at St. Agnes with breakfast at Skylar Hall.
