40 CANS FOR LENT:  A Knights of Columbus charity program that connects traditional Lenten alms-giving with the nutritional needs of needy families.  We continue to invite parishioners to participate.  Our goal is to collect 2500 lbs.  Contribution of one can-per-day, inspired by Christ’s 40 days of fasting in the desert, is the goal.  The program will continue through Palm Sunday. This is a joint venture with Saint Vincent de Paul Society and several Knights are needed before each mass this weekend  to help parishioners transfer food from their cars to the St. Vincent DePaul food trailer.  Please consider arriving at mass 15 minutes early to help.  Any questions, please contact Brother Tom at 610-312-9107 or tomlanchoney [at] yahoo [dot] com 

 

40 DAYS FOR LIFE: The ongoing National 40 Days for Life Campaign involves prayer, fasting, and public witness to end abortion. St. Peter Parish has adopted Wednesday, March 11, and Monday, March 16, to pray in front of Planned Parenthood, 8 S. Wayne & W. Market Sts., in West Chester. If you can help cover any part of the time between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., please contact: John Randle 484-796-1118, or email: randlejb [at] gmail [dot] com .

 

COUNCIL 10351 25th ANNIVERSARY: Brother Tom Foley has agreed to lead this event and we are in the early planning stages.  Please contact Tom at tom [at] tefoley [dot] com if you have any ideas on the event or if you can assist.

 

FALLEN HEROES 5K RUN & 1 MILE FAMILY WALK: Get your running (or walking) shoes on!  The Fallen Heroes 5K Run and 1 Mile Family Walk is set for May 16th at Hibernia Park. Registration is now open at http://heroes.secondwindtiming.com/ . We will need a group of volunteers for this event to run smoothly.  If you should have any questions on the event or would like to volunteer to assist, please contact GK Ted at fallenheroes5k [at] comcast [dot] net .

 

COUNCIL SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES: Have you made your New Year’s Resolutions….was one to become more active in charitable works? With the New Year come many new opportunities for service and listed below a few of the opportunities are available through the Council:

KNIGHT AT THE RACES: The St Cecilia’s Council is holding a Knight at the Races on March 21st. If you are interesting in purchasing a horse, or attending the event, please contact Brother Grant Nelson at 610-383-6054  or grant3 [at] aol [dot] com for more information.

 

2015 COUNCIL PICNIC: Mark your calendars and make your reservations, the 2015 Family Picnic will held at Twin Grove Campground the weekend of July 10th-12th, 2015 with the Picnic being on the 11th. Twin Grove Campground is located at 1445 Suedberg Rd, Pine Grove, Pa 17963.  This is a popular event, and the campground is filling up fast, so make your soon.  Interested members should call Twin Grove at (717) 865-4602 to inquire about availability of campsites and cabins.  Paul has some exciting updates that he will be sharing at the next Council meeting.  Picnic time & additional details to be announced at a later date.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS INSURANCE:

A large initiative of Supreme and is extremely beneficial to Knights and their families. Field agent, Thomas Zarrilli has been assigned to our Council and will be responding to member requests. KNIGHTLY ATTIRE:
